The Philippines has long been making waves in the worlds of Web3 and art, capturing the attention of tech enthusiasts and art appreciators alike.
As the second-highest global adopter of cryptocurrencies, and a robust cornerstone of the thriving Tezos art ecosystem, this archipelago has catapulted itself to the forefront of where art and technology intersect.
From Art Basel Hong Kong to Art Moments Jakarta and S.E.A Focus, the success of exhibitions organized by TZ APAC at world-renowned art exhibitions have been in part due to the works by prominent Filipino artists featured, like Bjorn Calleja and loopymoon.
The buzzing Tezos communities in the Philippines also make the Tezos ecosystem a vibrant place to be, organizing grassroots events like Tezmas.

This collaboration is aimed at empowering Filipino artists to realize their artistic aspirations, and to provide them with the necessary support, resources, and knowledge to flourish in the rapidly-evolving world of Web3 technology and digital art.
The shared vision is to cultivate a thriving community of artists in the Philippines and beyond, driving innovation and creativity in the Web3 ecosystem.
Katherine Ng, TZ APAC Managing Director, echoes Cristian’s enthusiasm for what lies ahead:
DSH Manila has been diligently working to cultivate a vibrant arts community, with a dedicated artist collective already in place.
In an effort to expand the collective’s reach and enhance its creative potential, DSH Manila will be conducting workshops to introduce members to the Tezos ecosystem. These workshops will provide valuable insights into the exciting possibilities offered by Web3 technology, equipping artists with the skills and knowledge to leverage the opportunities that the Tezos ecosystem offers.
Here’s also what to expect: an exciting month-long art incubator program where artists will live and learn together from experienced mentors, culminating in an exhibition attended by community partners!
Selected artists can benefit from this opportunity to nurture their artistic skills within a supportive and inspiring environment.
Participants are granted access to a private workspace and accommodations at Draper Startup House Manila, as well as specialized tools and resources to facilitate their creative endeavors.
Additionally, the residency provides a platform for fostering collaborations and building networks among fellow artists, further enriching the experience for all involved.
Through the month of April, participants will be working towards creating their own unique masterpiece which will be showcased at a private exhibition. This will be an NFT artwork minted on AkaSwap, and showcased at an exhibition at the end of the month.
Creative and Career Development Workshops
DSH Manila will organize educational workshops designed to inspire and educate, where participants can learn more about creating opportunities to further their career.
Personal Mentorship Sessions
Successful artists will take participants on a personalized journey, where they can refine their artistic skills and explore new creative avenues.
Art Exhibit and Networking Event
DSH Manila and TZ APAC will invite community partners from our network, such as various gallerists, curators, and collectors. The goal here is to connect participating artists with these community partners, and create a long-lasting synergy between them.
The Art Incubator and Residency Program will run across the entire month of April 2023.
10 artists from different backgrounds will be selected to participate.
The aim is both to nurture upcoming NFT artists, and to allow artists who have only operated in the traditional and digital spaces to be introduced to Web3 and NFTs. Artists who have never minted NFTs before are highly encouraged to apply.
