From Day 1 of 2022, the TZ APAC team united towards one mission: To empower the Asian champions to flourish in Web 3.0.

In September, the EGG Web3 Incubator (EW3I) program kicked off, equipping founders with the resources to build real-world Web3 solutions on Tezos, supported by strong ecosystem partners.

The teams were matched with mentors from TZ APAC’s network - all of whom were leaders from organizations such as Draper Startup House, Crypto.com Capital and Amber Group.
Founders were also able to benefit from the 20 masterclasses and workshops conducted, personal 1-1 mentorship sessions, and pitching clinics.
Cohort 1 of the EW3I concluded with a Demo Day on 7 December 2022, where project founders gathered at the TZ APAC Developer Hub to pitch to investors and venture capitalists.

Education is another big priority for TZ APAC. The team seeked to empower the next generation of computer scientists and Web3 builders through university collaborations, workshops, hackathons and partnering with the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
Asia is home to the most promising talent in blockchain development. Hackathons proved to be a valuable arena for developing blockchain expertise - teams that showed potential were onboarded into the EW3I.
TezAsia Hackathon 2022
TZ APAC organized the TezAsia Hackathon alongside Tezos India, which gathered over 11,000 participants. Two of the winners, Third Media and Lumos Protocol, were inducted into the EW3I.
Wanxiang Hackathon 2022
TZ APAC also partnered with the Wanxiang Hackathon 2022, which gathered China’s most talented builders.
FindTruman took first place not just amongst the 10 teams who signed up for the Tezos track, but was also crowned World Champion - beating all teams from other tracks. They were then onboarded into TZ APAC’s EW3I program.

In May 2022, TZ APAC partnered with National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing to set up the Centre for Nurturing Computing Excellence, which empowers students to learn from real-world industry experts in fields such as blockchain technology, cloud computing, and data science.

The team also hosted workshops in Singapore for the talented students of Nanyang Technological Institute and the Institute of Technical Education College Central.
In Korea, students were also hosted at workshops withEWHA chain.
Over in Hong Kong, the team hosted a developer workshop for the MBA students at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
In Malaysia, a partnership with Asia Pacific University gave students insights into the Tezos ecosystem.
The Tezos ecosystem also partnered with the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), recognized as the most prestigious computer science competition for secondary school and high school students around the world.

The TZ APAC team also takes pride in building strong communities of creators across Asia. Participating in renowned art events, organizing contests and hosting workshops helped uplift the flourishing Tezos artist community in Asia.
S.E.A Focus 2023
The Tezos exhibition at S.E.A Focus 2022 during Singapore Art Week highlighted works of artists from across the world.

The Tezos NFT exhibition ‘NFTs + The Ever-Evolving World of Art.’ at Art Basel Hong Kong highlighted captivating generative works from over 20 artists introducing visitors to the world of NFTs.

Art Moments Jakarta 2022
Earlier this year, TZ APAC partnered with Art Moments Jakarta 2022 to deliver the NFT Art Prized Moments competition on akaSwap. The winning artworks were displayed at the physical art fair, along with the Tezos exhibition titled “NFTs: Inner Worlds, Immortalized” where the works of leading Asian artists were showcased.

Crypto Art Shanghai
At Crypto Art Shanghai, participants had an entire day devoted to the theme of Tezos - with a keynote workshop and panel covering both NFT art and projects.
Competitions held this year provided opportunities for creators to connect with each other. Contests such as Art Prized Moments and Tezmas highlighted the creative power of artists from across the region.
Workshops were also a big focus for this year. At Crypto Art Week Asia, radarboy3000 presented on generative art, and Ruanth Thyssen spoke about Provenance in NFTs.
At the Dali Web3 event in August, the team hosted a community meetup and a series of workshops where over 60 developers were introduced to Tezos.
Developer workshops in South Korea also introduced Tezos to thousands of attendees and viewers through keynote talks at MetaSeoul Gamecon 2022, and Blockchain Week in Busan.

Through the TZ APAC Content Hub, we also seeked to empower artists and deliver stories of local art ecosystems flourishing in Asia, and celebrations of culture like Indonesia and Malaysia’s Independence Day.

Through all the various events conducted through Asia, the TZ APAC team was delighted to connect with members of the Tezos community across Asia.
For Asia’s premier fintech event, the team rolled out activations that introduced real-life use cases to visitors, and facilitated the sharing of Web3 knowledge through a series of panels and talks.
Minting of the SFF2022 Proof of Attendance Token
Visitors to this year’s SFF were able to mint their own personalized SFF2022 Proof of Attendance Token on Tezos.
The activation generated the highest amount of mints with over 2,600 NFTs minted!
